Top 6 Eye Makeup Tips Every Girl Should Know
It is a fact that applying eye makeup is a tricky business.
Although some women have long eyelashes and beautiful eyes, they just
don’t know how to apply eye makeup to enhance their look. No matter how
hard some of these women may try, they just can’t figure out how to
apply eye makeup that looks as good as those that appear on commercials.
When applying eye makeup such as eyeliner, eye shadow and mascara,
there are certain ways in which they have to be done. There are some
right ways and definitely more wrong ways that you must know about. You
can ruin your look totally if you apply a tone to the wrong part of the
eye. To make sure that you look like a star every time you step out of
your house, here are the top 6 eye make up tips that every girl should
know.
Prep
Before you apply anything else to your eyes, you must apply a thin
layer of primer or foundation to create a base for the application of
color. If you are going to use powder eye shadow, then set your lids
with powder. For pencils and crèmes, skip the powder as these are easier
to apply on top of primer and foundation.
Know your color
Depending on your hair color and skin tone, some colors will work for
you and some won’t. Therefore, it is essential that you know your
color. If you have blonde hair, colors that will work for your eyes are
taupes and creams. For brunettes, more suitable colors are chocolate
browns and mochas. If you are a redhead, experiment with pinks,
lavenders, reddish browns and peaches. Gray hair goes great with blues
and purples.
Hide dark circles
When you have dark circles under the eyes, it is not easy to get rid
of them using your regular eye makeup. To hide dark circles, you must
first prepare your under eye area with a fast absorbing, hydrating eye
cream. This will allow you to apply other products smoothly on the area.
To cover uneven tones, apply a corrector followed by a concealer. Your
concealer must be lighter than your foundation. For best results, it
should be at least two shades lighter. Use a pale yellow powder on the
undereye area as this prevents creasing and lasts long at the same time.
Use neutral shadows to enhance your eyes
If you want to look good without trying too hard, you should play
with neutral colors on your eyes. A single color can do wonders, but you
can also try two colors to get that sultry eye that many women dream of
having. Start by applying a dark bronze eye shadow on the outer corner
of the eyes. Sweep a shimmery pearl or ivory shadow across the lids
starting from the inner corners and moving towards the outside. This
helps balance out the bronze and also adds dimension to the eyes making
them appear dramatic.
Make your eyes pop
To make your eyes look more open, apply white eye shadow towards the
inner corner of the eye. This eye make up trick works best for weekends
and long nights when you have to try hard to look alert.
Apply mascara sparingly
To make your eyelashes look longer and thicker, apply mascara near
the roots of the lashes and not the tips. You will look very bad if you
apply mascara and your lashes stick together. You can avoid this by
using an eye lash comb after applying mascara. Use your eyelash curler
before applying the mascara or after. Prevent spoiling your makeup by
using a tissue paper when doing the bottom eye lashes.
